Clean beauty

Hi loves,

I want to write about various topics related to skincare, bodycare, and haircare. I have a lot of knowledge about these subjects, which is why I founded Nailah. I would like to share this knowledge with you in a blog series.

I worked in a cosmetics store for years. When I started working here at the age of 17 I was so impressed with all the types of products, ingredients, and wonders that skincare brought that I simply didn't know where to start. Which skincare belongs to which skin type, what the ingredients do, and more importantly; which ingredients are extremely harmful that are still being used in skincare today.

Now I am 22 years old and I am annoyed by most skincare brands. Ingredients such as parabens, sulfates, and mineral oils have been used in skincare products for so long, while these ingredients have been proven time and again that they bring more harm than improving.

There has been an arrival of clean beauty for several years. Clean beauty means that the product is not toxic to the skin or the environment and it does not contain a long list of ingredients linked to harmful health effects such as cancer, skin irritations, or hormone disruptions. A few examples of these are parabens, phthalates, ethanolamine, chemical sunscreens, and synthetic fragrances. To learn more about this you can read this article.

It's 2021 and it's time for a change in the skincare world. Time to normalize clean beauty. Sounds much better right?
